The case of the leaking/exploding Duracell batteries

Dug out the flashlight the other day and noticed that it was not working.  I figured the batteries must be dead so I tried opening it.  For some reason it was extremely hard to open and actually required a vice grip and a pair of pliers.

Lo and behold, the batteries leaked/exploded in the flashlight completely melting the inside of the unit.

In case you were wondering, the batteries were included with the flashlight.
